Negombo
With a wide sandy beach, big hotels, and handy proximity to Colombo, Negombo is one of Sri Lanka’s most popular resorts. Beyond its sands lies an interesting mix: a colonial-built canal and crumbled fort; a lively fish market, traditional fishing communities, and a wildlife-rich lagoon.Kandy
Kandy is a cosmopolitan city in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. It was the last headquarters of the ancient period of the Kingdoms of Sri Lanka. The city lies in the middle of the hills of the Kandy Plateau, which also traverses a vast region of tropical plantations, primarily tea. Kandy is both an administrative and a religious municipality, as well as being the capital of the Central Province of the country. Kandy houses the Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), among the most sacred places of devotion to the Buddhist community. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988.Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage
The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, established in 1975, commenced with seven orphans. Today some of these orphans enjoy the fortune of seeing their grandchildren born in the same location. The original objective of establishing the orphanage inclined more towards tourism, but it soon became a conservation and educational centre. With the help of local and foreign elephant experts, Pinnawala started a scientific captive-breeding program for elephants.Activity in Pinnawala

Place To Visit in Kandy
The Temple of the Tooth Relic
The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a world-renowned place of worship, where the left Canine tooth of Gautama Buddha is enshrined. The temple which is venerated by thousands of local & foreign devotees and tourists daily was named as a world heritage by UNESCO in 1988
The Kandy Lake
Kandy Lake is an artificial lake that is also known as the Kiri Muhuda (or the “Sea of Milk”), and it can be found in the heart of Kandy city. Built in the early 19th century by King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe, the last king of Kandy’s ancient Sinhalese monarchy, the lake is in front of the sacred Temple of the Tooth.
Royal Botanical Garden
Royal Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya are about 5.5 km to the west of the city of Kandy in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. In 2016, the garden was visited by 1.2 million locals and 400,000 foreign visitors. It is near the Mahaweli River (The longest river in Sri Lanka). It is renowned for its collection of orchids. The garden includes more than 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. Attached to it is the “National Herbarium of Sri Lanka”.
Nuwara Eliya
Nuwara Eliya is Sri Lanka’s highest town and a favourite hill station during British colonial times. The town is still touted as ‘Little England’, an illusion maintained by the presence of the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club, a racecourse, the Victoria Park and excellent trout fishing in nearby lakes and rivers. The temperature can drop close to freezing at night, and log fires are a common feature of the many Tudor-style houses. Adding to the atmosphere is the spectacle of its townsfolk wrapped in winter jackets and woolly hats, carting incredible bundles of turnips, leeks, marrows and cabbages to the markets.
Pedro Tea Center and Factory
To see where your morning cuppa originates, head to the Pedro Tea Estate, about 3.5km east of Nuwara Eliya on the way to Kandapola. You can take a 20-minute guided tour of the factory, originally built in 1885 and still packed with 19th-century engineering. However, due to the type of tea produced here (a very light tea), processing only takes place at night when it’s colder, so you’re unlikely to see much action.
Horton Plains National Park
Horton Plains is a beautiful, stark world with excellent hikes in the shadows of Sri Lanka’s second- and third-highest mountains, Kirigalpotta (2395m) and Totapola (2357m). The ‘plains’ form an undulating plateau over 2000m high, covered by wild grasslands and interspersed with patches of thick forest, rocky outcrops, filigree waterfalls and misty lakes. The surprising diversity of the landscape is matched by the wide variety of wildlife, although many of the larger animals are very elusive. Birdwatchers will be well rewarded.
Gregory Lake
Gregory Lake, located in the heart of Nuwara Eliya, is a reservoir constructed by British Governor by the name of Sir William Gregory in 1873. Gregory Lake used to be a bog back in the day and had been through some times of tribulation. But once it was renovated by Sir Gregory, the lake was later stocked with fish by a Government Agent (C. J. R. Le Mesurier) in 1881 (which accounts for much of the fauna within it); and in 1913, the lake’s water was directed through a tunnel to power a hydro power station, which it continues to do to this day.
Ramboda Falls
Cascading down two tiers of rock is the mesmerizing sight of stark white water-dropping 358 ft into a rocky pool. This is the 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka and is definitely worth seeing. For those who love nature and wouldn’t mind a trek, there’s a 2 km trail uphill that leads to this amazing site. If you are a bird watcher, making your way to the waterfall offers so many opportunities to spot a few rare birds in the trees chirping away at their merry song. If you are ready for some adventure, put on your hiking shoes and set off on an awe-inspiring journey to catch a glimpse of this natural treasure that is located just 35 mints away from our property.
